Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much does Doulio training cost?
Training tuition typically ranges from $800–$1,600, depending on the training format, location, and what is included. Some trainings are designed as elevated retreat-style experiences with additional amenities, while others are community-based or publicly hosted training opportunities with a more streamlined structure.
To make training more accessible, payment plan options may be available for select trainings. Full pricing and payment options are always clearly shared before registration opens.

2. Are there additional certification, exam, or materials fees?
No. Doulio uses a transparent pricing model. Your one-time training investment includes your training, certification review, certification issuance, and training materials/resources required for successful completion. There are no hidden exam fees or surprise certification charges after training.

3. How long does it take to receive certification?
Most participants receive their certification within 3–7 business days after successfully completing training and any required post-training steps. Timing may vary slightly depending on the training pathway, attendance verification, and completion requirements.

4. Is Doulio certification nationally recognized?
Doulio certifications are designed to prepare doulas for professional practice nationwide; however, recognition requirements can vary depending on employer expectations, state-specific programs, Medicaid reimbursement pathways, managed care organizations, or local contracting requirements.
If your goal is employment, payer enrollment, or participation in a specific maternal health initiative, our team can help you understand alignment requirements and guide you toward the most appropriate training pathway.

5. How do I maintain my certification?
Doulio certifications are maintained through the Doulio platform, where certified doulas access ongoing education, documentation resources, and professional updates. To protect quality and integrity, certification maintenance may include participation requirements, continuing education expectations, and periodic audits to ensure adherence to professional standards and scope of practice.

6. What happens after training—is there continued support?
Yes. Certification is not the end of the experience. Certified Doulio doulas receive access to our platform-based learning environment, which includes continuing education opportunities, practical resources, professional development tools, documentation guidance, and ongoing support designed to help you grow in practice—not just complete a training.
